In September 2008, the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs presented a draft law „authorising the approval of the framework agreement between the Government of the French Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain on the educational, linguistic and cultural systems in the schools of the two States“. This agreement strengthens cooperation between the two States in the field of education and teaching of the French and Spanish languages. In particular, it provides a legal framework for the special regimes set up in both countries (in particular the French sections in the institutions of the Spanish Autonomous Communities and the Spanish-speaking international sections in the French institutions). Judicial proceedings initiated before 1 November 1954 shall be assessed on the basis of the basic legislation and procedure in force on that date in the establishments. Bilateral cooperation between French and Italy in the field of education focuses on student mobility and teaching in the language of the partner country, in particular within the framework of the European and international sections. The use of common resources and the exchange of experience contribute to the development of non-linguistic disciplines in Italian and French.
